You can retire Alfred on a Campus. As of Patch 1.0.0.38 (Fall 2016 Patch) his effect gives 20 Great Person Points once, and not per turn. This effect doesn't seem to scale with difficulty or game speed, which makes it somewhat useless in the late-game where the points-per-turn seem to be nearly as high as Nobels one-time-boost. It is unclear if it's a bug, an oversight or intended.
