Domination victory

The Domination victory a victory condition in Civilization VI. It is the most basic victory to achieve. A strong military taking over other Capitals will win this type of victory.

Description

To achieve a Domination victory, players must conquer the Icon Capital Capital of every other civilization. A strong military is highly recommended.

Notes

This victory doesn't require outright Warmongering, but is perhaps best suited to that play style. In order to win a game this way, players must capture and hold the Capital Cities of all other civilizations in the game. Learn some tips on preparing units for war and how to take over the world by dominating every civilization on the planet.

You may have to actually have the capitals ceded to you, not merely taking them. I just finished a game where I conquered captured all capitals except Washington and Sparta. Then I declared war on US and Greece and took those two and DID NOT WIN. Then I made peace with Teddy and he ceded washington to me. Gordo would not cede Sparta (Gordo never cedes anything) so I captured her entire empire. Only when the last Greek city fell did I win (although, ironically, a Culture victory).

Long story short: I think it's not enough to take the cities, you must also be their "rightful owner," which means you must have them ceded to you and/or wipe out the civ.

17/01/2017 - Confirmed a domination victory, having obtained all other civ's capital cities. It did not trigger the first time I took all capitals however, I reloaded my game from the same turn and captured it again which triggered the victory for me.
